The 46th Annual Memorial Service was held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, November 15, 2004. The photos on this page are courtesy of Colin Watling, a guest who travelled from England to Hollywood to attend the service. He also attended the 2005 and 2006 services. Thank you, Colin, for sharing the photos.

The service is open to the public. If you are thinking about attending but would like further information about the service, please feel free to email Joan Leighton. She is very nice and will be happy to tell you about the service and answer any questions that you may have.

Guest speakers were Jayne Meadows, one of Ty's leading ladies in The Luck of the Irish (whom he had personally chosen for the role); Terry Moore, Ty's leading lady in King of the Khyber Rifles; Henry Colman, producer and fellow overseas serviceman with Ty; and Pat Shade, assistant editor on King of the Khyber Rifles and Untamed. The Rev. Gary Dickey offered the opening and closing prayers. The Celtic Arts Center Choir provided music. Michael Roman gave an introduction.

Long shot of Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Absolutely beautiful!

Colin with The Rev. Gary Dickey, who offered the opening at closing prayers for the memorial service.

Colin with Henry Colman, one of the guest speakers. Colman served overseas with Ty. For photo and transcription of a letter written by Ty to Colman in April 1947, check our 2005 Memorial Service page.

This is a picture of Ed Colbert, with Ty on the set of The Mississippi Gambler, in 1952. Colbert attended the 2004 memorial service. The next set of photos show him at the service.

The first photo shows Mr. Colbert with Joy, Colin's daughter. Colin is shown with Colbert in the second picture. And, the last picture is of Ed Colbert placing flowers on Ty's grave.

A beautiful spray of flowers is left in memory of Ty on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of his death.
