The Tyrone Power Collection, Vol. 2, is set for release on July 29, 2008. It will include the following films:

  • That Wonderful Urge (1948)

The Tyrone Power Collection is scheduled to be released May 1, 2007. The five-disc set will include Blood and Sand , Son of Fury, Captain from Castile, Prince of Foxes, and The Black Rose.

The extra features are:

Leading Ladies: Interviews with leading ladies who worked with Tyrone Power - Jayne Meadows, Terry Moore, Colleen Gray, and Patricia Neal.

Behind the Scenes: Interviews with actor James Cromwell, whose father directed Son of Fury and historian-writer Maria Ciaccia.

Recollections: Interviews with Tyrone Power's only living wife, Linda Christian, their two daughters, Romina and Taryn, and Tyrone Power Jr.

The last section will be footage of Tyrone from Fox Movietones, or a public service announcement, or an interview or section of a variety show - not decided yet.

Sun Also Rises to DVD in 2007!

In 2007 20th Century Fox will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Sun Also Rises with a Hemingway collection with the aforementioned, as well as Under My Skin, Adventures of a Young Man, A Farewell To Arms and The Snows of Kilimanjaro. This is terrific news not only for fans of Tyrone Power but fans of writer, Ernest Hemingway!


Debbie Power's Death on April 3, '06!

Today I received information from Jill, one of our site visitors, about Debbie Power's death from complications of a stroke in April. The source is an online Tennessee newspaper, Dresden Enterprises. Thank you, Jill, for sending the information to us.

Deborah Power Loew, widow of Tyrone Power, died Monday, April 3, 2006 in Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Loew was the daughter of the late Freddie Hungerford of Tunica and stepdaughter of S.R. Hungerford, III of Lancaster, South Carolina. She is survived by two sons, Tyrone Power, IV of Los Angeles and Gerald Loew of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Cheryl (Howard) Harrison of St. Louis, Missouri; and two grandsons, Tyrone K. Power and Henry Beneke, IV.
